7:00 pm – The board of directors met prior to the general membership meeting. These are the items that were discussed:

·         Steve mentioned a change in the team captain for the pistol team.

7:32 pm – Meeting was called to order.

Introduction of Officers:  Mike Cumberland- President, Chris Smith- Treasurer, Brian Jesteadt- Membership, James Hacke- Secretary, Joe Urish- Pistol(absent), Mike Ripley- Black Powder, Tom Horstman- Trap, Tom Fischer- Appointed by the membership.

Special Guest:  Dalene Gustkey, a volunteer for Wreaths Across America, stopped in to ask for a donation to purchase wreaths for the Slippery Rock cemetery for the upcoming Christmas season. There are 520 veteran graves in the Slippery Rock cemetery that the organization would like to put wreaths on.  For every 2 wreaths purchased, there will be 1 matched to equal a total of 3. There was a motion that the club donate 30 wreaths for a total of $510.  The motion was unanimously approved.  Some of the 28 members in attendance that evening also personally donated an additional $340 to bring the total of wreaths donated to 50. Treasurer’s Report: Chris read the report.

Bills and Communications:  Nothing to report this month. 

Pop: Steve turned in $8.

Rental Committee Report:  SRU October 26th from 3 pm till 9 pm.

Pistol Team:  No report.  Rodger Carfangia made the decision to step down as team captain.  Joe Urish has volunteered to fill the vacant position. 

Trap Team:  October 24th will be the last Tuesday night practice for trap.  November 5th will be the first shoot for the winter trap league.  The league shoots will be from noon till 4pm or until everyone is done shooting.  One round of 25 targets costs $4 during practice nights.  Practice starts around 5 pm and continues till dark or until everyone is done shooting. 

Black Powder / Meat Shoots:  Mike reported for September and October.  He took in $280, had expenses of $140, kept $40, and turned in $100 to the club.  Mike also reported that the rendezvous had about 100 registered visitors and about 80 shooters.  He took in $1,846, had expenses of $330, kept $266, and turned in $1,250 to the club. 

Junior Rifle Team:  Mike Ripley is no longer running the Junior Rifle team.  Anyone that is interested in taking over please contact Mike or a board of directors.    

Archery: 

Fun Indoor Shoot:  Barry turned in $100.  The fun shoots happen on Mondays. Doors open at 9 am with the first shoot starting around 10 am.    

Rifle:  Al took in $43, expenses were $4 and turned in $39 to the club. Al announced that the rifle group would be done shooting for now.

Membership:   Brian took in $515, maintenance fund $60, general fund $455. Key cards were $30.  The total membership is 638 of which consist of 477 senior/life charter members.  There are 54 new members for the 2023 year. 

Old Business:  Mike Ripley and Greg Tebay formed and poured a new cement sidewalk in front of the building.  A big thanks to the two of them for taking on such a laboring task.  It looks great!  Brian J. said the card key system is back up and running for the rear door.  Should you have any issues with your keys please contact him. 

New Business:  Mike Ripley said he might do a few nights of youth .22 caliber shooting in December.
